Allison Cara Tolman was born in the United States. The actress was nominated for Golden Globes and Emmys in her role of Molly Solverson on the FX the series, Fargo's initial season. Tolman was recognized for her role as Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman "calmly, assuredly stole" the film. Tolman was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award as Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries and was also nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her performance. Tolman also had an appearance on the Mindy Show playing Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015, she starred as an supporting part in Michael Dougherty's comedy-horror film Krampus. Tolman was a star who made the most acclaimed role in Fargo she resisted support roles in the film as mothers, wives and best friends to pursue the role she thought was distinct. In the year 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled following one season. Tolman starred on the ABC drama Emergence. It premiered on on September 24, 2019, and ended after one season in May 2021, even though Tolman tweeted it received "pretty excellent" ratings. The actress has also been in a guest appearance on NBC's Good Girls. She starred in 2021 as Alma Filcott on the second season of Why Women Kill and Natalie Green in the book in the Facts of Life, of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, third edition.
